The Claritas 390AX enclosure is a dervitive of the 390A uses the same fascia and side extrusion as the Claritas 390A enclosures can accomodate a full size ATX motherboard but uses a 2U high server based PSU. It can now utilise the quietest most efficient coolers available such as the Zalman 7000cu and MCubed Borg passive heatpipe coolers, and in addition the case now has capacity for up to six hard discs, along with a full sized optical drive.

The Claritas 390M enclosure uses the same symetrical fascia and side extrusion as existing Claritas enclosures but measures 390mm overall depth. Claritas 390M takes a microATX motherboard (244 x 244mm) alongside a full size ATX PSU (150 x 86 x 140mm) and can accommodate the most powerful processors available today. The 390M can utilise the quietest most efficient coolers available, such as the Zalman 7000cu and 7700cu ‘all copper’ models, and in addition the case now has capacity for up to six hard discs and a full size optical drive. Hard Disc Decoupling Platforms are also available as an option for quietening hard discs and dealing with the heat dissipated. A Microsoft Media remote control receiver can be adapted for internal mounting inside the enclosure whilst the dark blue drawer cover is IR transparent to allow the remote control to work.

The Claritas 260A is designed to accomodate a full size ATX motherboard with full height PC cards. To achieve this a microATX ‘flex’ type PSU has to be employed limiting the power rating to 200w, all this in an enclosure only 260mm deep. Please note these PSU’s are not the conventional microATX format, for more information contact Stands Unique.

The 260A makes for an ideal ‘client’ based digital media machine. The 260A stands out in the Claritas range as it utilises a non-symetrical fascia due to the position of the graphics card on the ATX motherboard and consequently the offset optical drive to allow clearance. The 260A can accomodate large CPU coolers such as the Zalman 7000-cu which has a height of around 65mm.

The 260M is designed to accomodate the more compact microATX motherboard with full height PC cards. A standard format microATX PSU is employed (not supplied). We recommend either Seasonic power supplies which are rated up to 300w or the SilenX 320 / 350 or 400w microATX supplies both types are very quiet with a slight preference to the Seasonic range under extreme load. All this in an enclosure measuring only 260mm deep. The 260M makes for an ideal ‘client’ based digital media machine. These higher power supplies and developments in ‘heatpipe’ technology for cooling the CPU and GPU by linking the processors with the enclosure chassis directly has meant this enclosure can now be used for more serious Media server systems. The design of the Claritas can even be used for Audio Power amplifiers with ‘Tee-slots’ engineered into the inside of the side extrusions to allow for ‘power amplifier boards’ to be bolted directly to the mass of the case for maximum heat dissipation. A Microsoft Media remote control receiver can be adapted for internal mounting inside the enclosure whilst the dark blue drawer cover is IR transparent to allow the remote control to work.
